I You find the Fish Fountain on the nordeast part of the old square
Marienplatz
in the center of the
city. The famous Fish Market was once held here and gave the Fountain it`s name. Into this
Fountain made the butchers boys their traditional headfirst dive upon finishing their
apprenticeship.
The last traditional dive could be seen on 18th of July 1954 to the opening of today`s wett. Today the luckpromising tradition changed and not only the municipal mayors are washing at Ash Wednesday their empty cash boxes - hoping the empty urban bags would be refilled soon.
