Ruhmeshalle mit Bavaria davor

Behind the Bavaria on the Theresienwiese king Ludwig I. established the fame hall, planned by his architect Leo von Klenze in 1843 - 1853. The building is surrounded by 48 Doric marble columns. Ludwig von Schwanthaler has sketched the allegories of the four Bavarian provinces Bavaria, the Palatinate, Swabia and Franconia in the tympana of both side wings. In the hall itself there are 108 busts of prominent Bavarian personalities. Zoom Büsten In 2000 the first both female busts were added: the representations of the actress Klara Ziegler as well as of the author Lena Christ. The fame hall was built using historical records of the Valhalla, likewise established by Leo von Klenze near Regensburg.
